Overview

How it works.

Cull, tag, and deliver. MatchID identifies the athletes in your photos and writes their names straight into the file, on your machine, with nothing uploaded to identify anyone.

01
Index

Add reference headshots so MatchID knows who these people are.

02
Select a roster

Point a folder at the right group: indexed people, or a roster file for tagging by hand.

03
Apply metadata

Set the folder’s template so approved names have somewhere to land.

04
Process

Run MatchID across the folder. Faces and jersey numbers are read on your machine.

05
Review

Approve or reject each match. Approving writes the names into your metadata.

A roster with no indexed headshots can’t match anyone.

MatchID is face recognition. It compares faces in your photos against reference faces it already knows, and those come from headshots you index. Picking a roster gives you names for tagging by hand, but automatic matching needs indexed headshots first. Headshots and their fingerprints stay on your computer.

With MatchID

Index once, then process a folder and review the matches. Best when you cover the same teams repeatedly.

With a roster file

Attach a roster and tag by hand from a jersey-sorted list. No indexing needed. Both paths write the same metadata.

GalleryID

Athlete naming for sports photographers and athletic departments. GalleryID Desktop ingests, culls and captions on your own computer — nothing is uploaded. GalleryID Cloud is the hosted archive you search by athlete name. The built-in Roster Library ships 18,815 team rosters and 474,304 athletes across NCAA Division I, II and III and the major US pro leagues.

Your archive knows who’s in it.
