Tagging photos

Names from recognition.

MatchID recognizes people you have already indexed, proposes a name for each face it finds, and writes nothing until you approve it. For anyone you have not indexed, use CaptionID instead.

Tag photos with MatchID

Faces and jersey numbers matched against the roster you indexed, then reviewed before anything is written.

  1. Open the folder you want to process. MatchID runs against the people you have already indexed, so start with MatchID people if you have not set up a roster yet.Press and hold to enlarge
  2. Set the roster scope so MatchID compares against the right group. Narrowing to one team is both faster and more accurate than matching against your whole library.Press and hold to enlarge
  3. Set the folder's template first. Approving a match resolves your tokens into the fields you chose. With no template, MatchID knows who is in the photo but has nowhere to write it.Press and hold to enlarge
  4. Review the results. Filter by Review, Auto, Confirmed, or No Tags. The face cards beside the photo are the approval strip: hover one to approve or reject that match, and the matching box on the photo highlights so you can see who it means. The caption on the left fills in as you approve, and stays editable around the tokens. Anyone MatchID missed can be tagged from the roster cards below.Press and hold to enlarge

Nothing is written to a file until a match is approved. Rejecting someone also keeps them off that photo if you re-run MatchID later. Photos with roster-tagged people and MatchID-approved people in the same frame caption correctly, because both land in one list.

Strengthen the roster as you go

Turn your best matches into new reference faces so later events match better.

  1. When a match is a clean, front-facing shot, the ★ Use as reference button appears. You won't see it on action shots or steep angles. Star it to add that crop as another reference for the athlete.Press and hold to enlarge

Helmeted sports benefit the most: each reference you add makes the next event of the same athlete more accurate. The model never trains on your photos, and references stay on your computer.
